Steve started his drumming career banging his head against the wall at school while the teachers were doing a counter rhythm with a ruler on his knuckles. By the age of twelve he was in the only jazz band ever to include a biscuit tin player. His first kit cost £18 and he was robbed. After a year he stopped kicking the kick drum and saved up for a bass drum pedal. He didn't need to learn how to play, he inherited it from his father who played drums in the navy.
